They see what is not theirs, they see the land no one wanted because it was desolate, barren, and forlorn, placed back into the hands of Israel after she had wandered this earth for 2,000 years.

And the watching world witnesses a beautiful miracle. In Israel’s hand like a bud of a flower opening up, the abundance God predicted spills out.

The land was for 2,000 years exactly as Jeremiah said it would be.
“Then Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) said to all the people--to the men, the women, and people who had answered Him back:
... your land has become a wasteland, an object for astonishment and cursing, uninhabited, as it is today. It is because you offered incense, sinned against Adonai, didn’t listen to what Adonai said, and didn’t live by His Torah (law), regulations and instructions that this disaster has befallen you, as it is today (in Jeremiah’s day, 3,000 years ago).” (Jeremiah 44:20-23.)

Charles W. Elliot, president of Harvard University wrote of the land belonging to Israel after a visit there in the mid-1800s:
“A beautiful sea lies unbosomed,
among the Galilean hills
in the midst of that land once possessed
by Zebulon and Nephtali
Asher and Dan (tribes of Israel)
Life here was once idyllic.”

Tell me, where were the people now known as Palestinians then, those ones who have said that they have lived there from time immemorial? Where were they then? Why weren’t they there?

In the late 1867, Mark Twain also journeyed to Israel. His words echoed Elliot‘s words. He writes:
“A desolate country...
A silent mournful expanse...
There are two or three small clusters of Bedouin tents,
but not a single permanent habitation.
One may ride for ten miles,
and not see ten human beings.”

Israel had become the land no one wanted, the uninhabited wasteland the Lord God said it would be. Empty of inhabitants.

Tell me,where were these ones now known as Palestinians--where, oh where were they then?
Why were they elsewhere and not there?

Another prominent minister in Mark Twain’s era asked the mournful question:
“But where are the inhabitants?
This fertile plain,
which might support
an immense population
is almost a solitude.”

My question is where were these ones who now say, “It’s MY land!”? Where were the Palestinians then? And why oh why weren’t they there?

Israel was, as God said it would be, the land no one wanted. Suddenly, in our day, He has transformed it into the land men are fighting over.

For God said that too. He spoke through His prophets thousands of years ago about a day in the future when people would once again grace the landscape, and that wasteland would be transformed.

Our day is that day in the future. It is the day just before Jesus returns, the day of the Lord, when His foot shall touch the Mount of Olives and split that mountain in two.

In our day the land of Israel’s deserts are blooming, just as God said they would over 2500 years earlier.
“In the days to come Jacob will take root, and Israel will bud and blossom and fill all the world with fruit.” (Isaiah 27:6, spoken in 701-681 BC)

This is what is called a double prophecy. It has two meanings, meant for two different things. One is spiritual through Jesus. He was the root in dry ground (Israel). The other is physical. Both are happening in our day, but we will only look at the physical right now.

In the early 1900s, not long after Mark Twain spoke his words about this abandoned piece of land, this Word from the book of truth began taking root. Jewish pioneers came in and settled the area, the land no one else wanted. They came in when Palestinians were no where in sight, and not yet yelling, “Hey! Get off my land!”

These pioneers tilled its barren slopes. With their own hands they dug a irrigation system that winds for many miles through its deserts. And the land came alive once more. Just as God said it would. Only then did Arabic people pour into this land, eager for jobs in a land being transformed before their eyes from ugly to beautiful, from the land no one wanted into the land everyone desires.

In chapter 41, the prophet Isaiah spoke again about the Israel in our day.
“I[the Holy One of Israel, our Jesus] will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs...
I will put in the desert the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive. I will set pines in the wasteland, and the cypress together, so that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.”

And so it is, just like God said. In our day, what looked impossible has happened. The exact trees Isaiah named are grown in Israel, and they grow where he said they would. The acacia, myrtle and olive trees thrive in the desert. Pine trees stretch gracefully in the wasteland, along with the cypress. How could a writer who lived over 2500 years ago have seen our day so vividly that he could even name the trees being planted? Could you?

Modern Israel even exports these trees all over the world.

Israel is today a land heavily laden with fruit.

Cotton is a important crop. Grapefruit, oranges and lemons; bananas, avocados and kiwis, litchi, mangos, and the all-important dates are grown in abundance in the subtropical areas and all along the coastal plains.

In the northern hills apples, pears and cherries are grown. Then there are those famous vines heavy with prize-winning grapes with a difference. They are the first ever grown with saline water in desert conditions. How about that.

Even the brand name of Israel’s juicy tomatoes and succulent melons tells a story, “Desert Sweet.”

But the crops I’ve named are just a few, just a few drops in the vast sea of fruits and vegetables Israel is now known for throughout the world.

And that’s not all she’s known for. Israel also excels in high quality dairy, poultry and beef.

In the 1990s mariculture was introduced, and fish from this tiny nation now streams throughout the world.

Yet, a rose of any other name would smell as sweet. Flowers are number one on the list of Israel’s agricultural exports, grown in the deserts and on the wasteland.

How sweet it is! God has by His own hand opened the bud of Israel again. It’s a bloomin’ miracle!

Now for the surprise exports that were-yes, it’s true!- predicted in the pages of the Bible eons ago. And this prophecy came much, much earlier than Isaiah and Jeremiah’s. Open your Bible to Deuteronomy 33:19, and hear the words of Moses.
“They will summon peoples to the mountain and there offer the sacrifice of righteousness; they will feast on the abundance of the SEAS, on the treasures hidden in the SAND.”

They are feasting...but this isn’t about food. The first part of this verse is near enough for us to reach out and touch it. Mark my words, many of you will see it with your own eyes. But at the moment, Israel on the whole has not recognised that the Messiah they are waiting for has already come once, that He is the one we call JESUS and that He is about to come again. They don’t yet realise that the righteousness they believe they have through the law is only ours through Jesus, through Yeshua, the Holy One of Israel, by faith, that same faith father Abraham had, that faith that was counted to him for righteousness. But they will see and turn and believe, and it will happen IN ONE DAY, just as the Bible says it will.

Meanwhile, the abundance of the seas is being gathered, and there’s nothing fishy about this abundance. All those hidden treasures are being revealed, and it’s not just water under those sands.

For one, Israel produces some of the best cut diamonds in the world. Who knows, you might even be wearing one. They are leading diamond producers, cutters and suppliers.

Then in 2009, the feast on abundance of the seas truly began. Natural gas deposits were discovered, and not little ones either, but some of the largest in the world, some of the largest ever found. But perhaps “enormous” is a better word for the fields found off shore in the SEAS, as Moses said they would be. And hey, how did he know? I’ll tell you, because God speaks the future before it happens so that when it does we may see it and believe.

Israel is now one of the big producers of natural gas in the world. In fact, you’ll never guess who are among her customers. Jordan for one. But also--get ready for this--the Palestinian Authority.

And where there is gas, there is...oil. These two hang together like those two peas in the pod.

With only a Bible, and faith in a God who always speaks the truth and never lies, a man named John Brown made his way to Israel in the 1980s. He began to search for those hidden treasures, especially that black gold,or ‘Texas tea’. He searched and he found what he was looking for: where there is natural gas, there is oil.

However,I’m not just talking in the SEAS, I’m talking on the land under the sands. Oil Pumps dot the land in one area of Israel. And it is a very strategic area now. Are you going to ask, “What area is that?” The place is strategic because it is another tasty bit of bait dangling from the hook that Ezekiel describes in chapter 38--that hook in the jaw. The colour of this mighty tasty bait is green, as in money, and it’s location is the Gaza Strip. Israel has been accused of stealing oil that belongs to the Palestinians, but tell me, how can they steal something that already belongs to them?

The prophet Micah also spoke of our day,
“In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as CHIEF among the mountains, it will be raised above the hills, and peoples will stream to it.”

Micah spoke of the Israel of our day, because now, that place known as ,”The Temple Mount” is the world’s most important religious site. Yet, again, I ask, how could Micah, a man who lived in 750-686 BC, know this? Did he guess? No. It is as God said. He foretells future events so that when they happen we may believe.

Micah said the temple mount, not a Jewish temple, the mountain itself would become the focus of the entire world. By now Jerusalem is the world’s most important religious site for Jews, Christians, and Muslims. When Jerusalem was regained in 1967, Israelis discovered a city in shambles. Her streets had been trashed, used as toliets, treated like a garbage can, and the walls covered with graffiti. Since that time the city has been lovingly scrubbed up and people from all nationalities stream to it.

Eyes may briefly wander into other parts of the globe, but they always turn back to Jerusalem. God said all eyes would be focused on her. The world we live in was born here and it will die here.

Mention of the Gaza Strip brings us right back to the people who now call themselves “Palestinians.”

The Gaza strip is an area which God gave the Jewish people originally, and when He gave it to them, He gave it to them for all time. Specifically, God gave it to the tribe of Judah. Wanna see?
“Ashdod with her towns and her villages,
unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof.” (Joshua 15:47)

Wanna hear that middle part again? GAZA WITH HER TOWNS AND VILLAGES. He who has ears let him hear. You have ears, my friend. Are you paying attention?

If you were to see a map of the land God gave the children of Israel as their inheritance, you will probably be very, very surprised. Not only does it include GAZA, but it extends far into the territory now claimed by Israel’s Arab neighbours.

It seems that the Jewish people are so glad to be home that they will do anything to stay there. So when the world casts the truth--God’s Word--down to the ground, in their attempt to devour more land, Israel compromises God’s Word, and says to them, “Here, you can have it. We’ll give you a slice if you leave us in peace.” But they won’t want a slice. They want the pie.

Yet, God Himself set her borders. The expanse of the Promised land is bordered in the south by the Nile, the northern border is the great Euphrates, the western part continues all the way to the great sea, the Mediterranean. Then the Lord said in Leviticus 25:23,
“The land shall not be sold FOREVER: for the land is MINE, for you are strangers and sojourners with me.”

Run that by me again, Lord. Whose land is it really?

For the land is MINE.

Ah, That’s what I thought you said, Lord.

So who are these Palestinians of our day, who are calling YOUR land their land, and where do they come from?

They have contended that they are the true owners of the land that makes up the nation of Israel, and that they lived there from time immemorial. Hmmm, strange then how that country was wasteland and desert and uninhabited before the Jewish pioneers arrived and claimed it back.

Who are the Palestinians? They don’t really exist as a separate people for the sole reason that there has never been a country called Palestine. The land belonging to Israel was known as Canaan in ancient times.

The name “Palestine” was chosen at a much later time. The Roman Emperor Hadrian renamed Israel “Syria Palistina” after Israel was crushed in 70 A.D., just as Jesus said she would be. The name was chosen as an insult. Assyria was a hated enemy. Palestina was adapted from a latin term. Palestina means “Philistine”. Remember them? The Philistines were an ancient people and sworn enemy of Israel. They hailed from Canaan. David is famous for killing the giant Goliath who was the Philistine champion no one could beat in his day.

So how about the people who have taken the name “Palestinians” and how do they come into play?

Yasser Arafat who liked to call himself, “a Palestinian refugee”, was not a refugee at all. He was born and raised in Egypt, and educated in Cairo.

Other prominent Palestinian leaders also hail from Egypt. These people are not displaced. They have not been thrown out of their homes and land. One of these leaders recently spoke on Arabic t.v. when he called for help with jihad,
“Every Palestinian in Gaza and throughout Palestine can prove his Arab roots--whether from Saudi Arabia, from Yemen, or anywhere”.

Later in the same speech he explained,
“Brothers, half of the Palestinians are Egyptians and the other half are Saudis.”

Only since the Holy land was a British territory, in very recent history, was it dubbed Palestine. But in those 2,000 years when the Jewish people wandered throughout the world without a nation, and the Promised land was empty, barren and uninhabited, the people who call themselves Palestinians were nowhere in sight.

They see the land no one wanted, not even them-- because it was worthless and barren, reshaped today by the hand of God into that beautiful bud now reaching full bloom. They see it and they desire it.

Dollar signs dance before their eyes. Envy gnaws at their heart. An ancient hate cuts them to the quick.

Suddenly, they want what they don’t have and didn’t desire. They want what wasn’t theirs for time immemorial, and never will be.

They want what God gave to Israel for all time, and God, once again, through Israel, made desirable, just like He said He would.

Behind this invented name, “Palestinians” are these ancient peoples, the peoples Israel now claims are “extinct”, but David disagrees.

The name is invented, but the people behind it are not extinct.

In Psalm 83 David speaks of a distant future, a future that is now here. He speaks of an invasion, one of the earliest ones God ever showed me in the summer of 2012, and he named the peoples who will take part. Funny enough, he names all the ancient Canaanite tribes Israel says no longer exist. Here is the prophecy in David’s own words,
“Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold your peace, and do not be still, O God.
For behold, your enemy makes a tumult,
And those who hate you have lifted up their head.
They have taken crafty counsel against your people,
and consulted together against your sheltered ones.
They have said, ‘Come and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.
For they have consulted together with one consent;
They form a confederacy against you:
The tents of EDOM,
PHILISTIA with the inhabitants of TYRE.
ASSYRIA also has joined them. They have helped the children of Lot.”

These ancient peoples make up the Arab nations and the ones we now call Islamic. Look around you. Can you see them rising up? Can you hear their voices lifted up in unison? They’re saying what God told us they would say, so that when we hear, we will believe.

Hamas leader Khaled Meshal said the Jewish state would be “wiped away” through resistance.
“Palestine is ours”, he announced, “from river to the sea and from the south to the north.” Sounds like more than a strip or slice to me. Sounds like the whole pie.

Another Hamas leader,Ismail Haniyah agrees. “I say again and again: We will not, we will not, we will not recognise Israel.”

In a different speech he exclaimed, “Jerusalem belongs to us and not the oppressors. Jerusalem is Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic.”

The prophet Ezekiel nods in agreement with David (see Ezekiel 38). Here he confirms David’s list, and he adds others to it, including Russia who will lead them in an outright invasion of Israel. Since the 1967 war when her much stronger neighbours were beaten by puny Israel in six short days, these people have been waiting and scheming and planning like David said they would 3,000 years ago. Back then, they didn’t steal her land as according to their plan and destroy her. She beat them, and they gave her back land that belonged to her all along, including Gaza which Jordan claimed. The world doesn’t want to mention this fact. They don’t even want to admit it. It makes them mighty uncomfortable. But, Gaza was included in the surrender terms agreed between Jordan and Israel.

The new plan for Jordan is, “I promise not to ask for that land back anymore,if you’ll just give it to the Palestinians. If you do that, I’ll be happy.”

Israel was the land no one wanted. It was a land barren and desolate. It was an uninhabited wasteland. But now, in our day when God transformed this wasteland into a bloomin’ miracle, suddenly she has become the land everyone wants, and all according to God’s own plan.

And God’s two-fold plan is never to steal and devour. His plan is to bring Israel to repentance so that all eyes will see that the Messiah they wait for is the Messiah that died: even our Jesus, and He’s coming again. When we see these signs we know it is almost time for the trumpet announcing His arrival to sound. When that day comes, will you be ready? “Believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.” That’s believe. Then, keep on believing; stand fast in Him. Believe and stay ready for He’s almost here.
“Believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.” He is the Holy One of Israel. He spoke the words beforehand, so that now. Every single prophecy came from Him, so that now when you see them, you might believe.
